But like you said, if you've got a trade lined up, its a different story than just going out and buying something.
The 818... all you need is a set of front springs... and its all bolt on. no fabricating or welding needed to convert it from a 6x6 to a 4x4. With the Duece there is quite a bit more work.

I have been looking at this for quite a while.

Other than horrible mileage... a 4x4 M818 would be such a kick ass tow rig in my mind. Recovery rig too. Still have the '04 2500HD for real long trips.

Plus... it would just be damn cool.

That one is NOT an M818. Thats an M35A2 duece, bobbed, with 49" michelins on the stock wheels, and an M105 trailer for the bed.

Thats pretty much a dream truck right there. With the 49s, you could eek out a little more speed, probably cruise 65 mph. That ones a turbodiesel, too. He sold it for around $8000 IIRC. Stocks, they could go about 55, but those are probably a good 25% bigger than stock.

I've informed Jamie that once I have the barn done, and the excess Jeeps sold, I'm getting one. She's ok with it.

I guess I should fiugre out how tall they are, to make sure my barn can accommodate..

Your right, you can easily tell by the amount of room in the front wheel well. Very small compared to a 5 ton.

I was just copying pictures from a thread that had the looks of what I was going for.

There was a 5 ton on some big michelins, and a 2.5 ton at the waterford parade today. I wonder who it was, maybe 13 mike or pappa g...
